JOB DUTIES
*Plan and administer the fire prevention education program and develop base fire regulations, training programs, and fire hazard assessment schedules
*Review construction and modification plans, confer with engineers, provide technical/functional assistance on fire prevention and building design criteria
*Inspect building structures and locations of fire extinguishers to detect and correct fire hazards, determine compliance with fire safety laws and ordinances, and maintain records
*Educate the base population regarding fire prevention and fire warden duties
*Investigate complaints and answer questions regarding fire hazards and violation of fire safety regulations
*Participate in fire drills and classes and prepare required reports
*Perform other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS
*Minimum certification in accordance with DODI 6055.06, be NFPA certified:
—Fire Officer I
—Fire Instructor II
—Fire Inspector II
*Minimum 5 years relevant fire-related experience
*Strong investigative skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy
*Good oral and written communication skills, PC literate with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
*Strong organizational and time management skills with strong interpersonal skills and good analytical and interpretive skills
*Excellent communication skills Reading, writing, email correspondence, with excellent ability to articulate problem-solving solutions
*US citizen with the ability to obtain US government clearance (NACI)
*Must possess a valid US passport with blank visa pages and 6 months remaining
*Must possess a valid US Driver’s License with minimum 6 months left prior to expiration/renewal
*Must meet all medical qualifications under the contract and meet other requirements applicable to working in the USARCENT/CENTCOM AOR
