Light Wheel Mechanic (Overseas)

Looking for qualified Light Wheel Mechanics (HMMWV, Ford 150 & Commercial Vehicles) 

  • Disassemble and assemble military equipment from technical manuals, written procedures, blueprints, engineering sketches and/or verbal instructions while adhering to all company safety and quality standards.
  • Determines exact nature and extent of repairs required and performs major and minor overhaul and repair on engines, power transmissions, suspension, steering and braking operational systems and related electrical, fuel, hydraulic, wheel and engine assemblies
  • Under the supervision of the Lead performs the full range of field-level overhaul and end-item repair work on chassis group units of one or more types of vehicles powered by internal combustion engines, diesel. May require MWO’s, SOUM and Warranty Claim work requests.
  • Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical systems, mechanical assemblies, equipment systems using common test and measurement equipment.
  • Be highly knowledgeable in today’s automotive technology to include, computer systems, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, steering systems, and drive trains.
  • Highly knowledgeable in diesel engine technology and wheeled equipment.
  • Must be knowledgeable in OSHA safety procedures and OSHA Hazardous materials and waste management.
  • Work in and have general knowledge of shop procedures as they relate to the maintenance and refurbishment upgrade of various military equipment and systems.
  • Document supply and maintenance repair actions manually or on military or commercial computer systems.
  • Assists and provides guidance to other departments and team members with the design, stand-up and improvement of maintenance shops.
  • Assists with training of others in the department and gives ongoing guidance and provides supervision in the absence of the Team Leader.
  • Must be able to work in a production environment under stringent time management schedules.
  • Assist in other duties as directed by Shop Supervisor or Lead Technician.
  • Maintain shop cleanliness.

Requirements and Experience:

  • Military Maintenance Training
  • If no military training, must have equivalent civilian training (diesel mechanic) or government contract experience.
  • Minimum 3 years specialized experience
  • Driver License
  • Must be willing to submit to required background checks and medical testing prior to starting position.
